Alya Solar

Alya Solar

Specs

Technology: Solar
Capacity: 24 MWp
Status: In operation
Country: Spain
Area: Cádiz (Andalucía)

The Alya Solar plants, along with the Alamak Plant, are the first solar plants inaugurated by BNZ in Spain. Currently operational, these plants generate enough clean energy to meet approximately 25% of Cadiz’s annual electricity needs, preventing the emission of 39,031 tonnes of CO2 each year.

Reflecting our commitment to environmental sustainability, the Alamak plant incorporates permeable structures and vegetated walls that enhance wildlife passage and ecological connectivity. Surrounding the facility, native species such as mastic trees, wild olives, holm oaks, and dwarf palms have been planted to support local biodiversity.

In addition, important grazing routes such as the Cañada Real have been preserved and a river crossing has been restored with native flora. Wildlife initiatives include feeding stations, water sources, shelters and nest boxes for various species, as well as monitoring programmes to protect the Spanish Imperial Eagle and the Red Kite.

The solar plant also uses agrivoltaic technology, which integrates solar energy production with agricultural practices, improving soil quality by reducing evaporation and providing shade for crops.

During its construction, the solar park had a positive economic impact on the local community, generating between 560 and 580 direct and indirect jobs and collaborating with 17 local companies.
